Following a proposal at this year’s AGM, we have introduced a new Men’s League for the 2022/23 season. This consists of six clubs:
- Eaglesham
- Greenbank
- Newlands South
- Old Parish
- Orchardhill
- Shawlands Trinity
The 2022/23 season takes place between Monday 8 November 2022 and Monday 27 March 2023.
The format of our men’s division is slightly different from our normal league fixtures. Each tie will consist of four players per team, ranked from top to bottom. This means players will face their equivalent in the opposing team in each game, but playing with or against all players in the match.
- Rubber 1: Home Player 1 & Home Player 2 v Visitor Player 1 and Visitor Player 2
- Rubber 2: Home Player 3 & Home Player 4 v Visitor Player 3 and Visitor Player 4
- Rubber 3: Home Player 1 & Home Player 3 v Visitor Player 1 and Visitor Player 3
- Rubber 4: Home Player 2 & Home Player 4 v Visitor Player 2 and Visitor Player 4
- Rubber 5: Home Player 1 & Home Player 4 v Visitor Player 1 and Visitor Player 4
- Rubber 6: Home Player 2 & Home Player 3 v Visitor Player 2 and Visitor Player 3
Match winners will be determined by the number of rubbers won. In the event of a tie, it will then be decided by games won. If the match is still a tie, it will be decided on total points won.
