Return to play guidance published from Badminton Scotland

Badminton Scotland have published the return to play guidance to allow for a safe return to badminton during the coronavirus pandemic. All league members are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the guidance and what it may mean for their club.

Essentially, for the time being when facilities reopen from 31 August, you will only be able to play singles to abide to the 2 metre social distancing rule. You must also stick to the roadmap guidance for meeting people indoors. If using today’s date of 27 August, that would mean you would only be able to meet up with two other households within the one day, with a maximum of seven other people at the same time.

Scottish Government are due to review the roadmap once again on 14 September, which may bring the possibility of reintroducing doubles to badminton and increasing the number of households and people you can meet indoors.

We will continue to work closely with Badminton Scotland and their Regional Development Officer for the West of Scotland, Euan Murray, and provide you with an update when it is next available.
