Langisde Badminton League is delighted to have been asked by Apollo Fir LTD, based in Clarkston in East Renfrewshire, to be the first sports association in the world to trial ‘Zero G Badminton’ later this month… and we are looking for Langside members and supporters to sign up!
Director of Operations of Apollo Fir, Ms. Lori Palof, said “We are always looking at ways to push the boundaries of what we can do in Zero G environments, and are now keen to test out the effects of zero gravity in a sporting environment.
“As the fastest racket sport in the world, badminton seems like the obvious choice. We’re delighted to partner with Langside Badminton League which operates in our community to help us test this new endeavour.”
Langside members, supporters, friends and family are all welcome to sign up to take part in this world first. No experience of playing badminton or flying is required. Full training, safety procedures and paid time off work to take part will be provided as part of the experience.
Langside Badminton League is looking at potentially bringing Zero G Badminton as a new league format for the 2022-23 season, and these test flights will allow us to understand how we can deliver it to our members.
We look forward to these exciting developments, and would like to wish everyone reading this news story a very happy April Fool’s Day.
