Schedule of matches for 2023/24 season published

The schedule of matches for the 2023/24 season has now been published, and can be found by visiting www.langsidebadminton.co.uk/events 

The 2023/24 season sees the reintroduction of two divisions within the mixed league, as well as the return of women’s and men’s leagues. Old Parish return to the mixed league following a year-long hiatus, whilst Greenbank also return to the mixed league for the first time since the 2019/20 season.

In the women’s league, Old Parish have also returned a team following the year-long hiatus, teaming up with Eaglesham who have never competed in the women’s league before. Whilst in the men’s league, Orchardhill and Greenbank have withdrawn their teams, but Newton Mearns have decided to enter a team, having missed out on the pilot year in 2022/23.

Langside League have yet to hold their formal annual general meeting, so regulations for the season ahead remain unchanged from 2022/23. The draw for the Langside Cups will be made as part of the AGM proceedings, with quarter finals held before the end of December 2023.

Also returning this season will be the end-of-season tournament, Thornlee. Dates and venues will be confirmed in early 2024, but is expected to take place in May 2024.

New players are welcome to join one of Langside’s eight clubs, but must register by 31 December 2023 to be able to play in league matches or Thornlee. Players should contact team captains or email contact@langsidebadminton.co.uk to be introduced.
